The VueZone Review
The VueZone wireless surveillance system will handle up to 15 wireless cameras with the elite service plan which is more than enough for small businesses or hardcore home owners.
Before you use your VueZone video security system, you will need to pick one of these service plans: Basic (free), Premier ($49.99 or $4.99/month), or Elite ($79.99/year). Here are the service plan pricing and features.
- Basic – Free. View remotely from your computer and supports up to 2 wireless surveillance cameras
- Premier – $49.99/yr or $4.99/month. You will be able to view remotely from your computer or smartphone, connect up to 5 cameras, 250 MB storage for online recording storage, video email alerts and pan and zoom digitally.
- Elite – $79.99/yr. Everything the premier service plan has plus 500 MB of online storage and supports up to 15 surveillance cameras.
I went with the premier service plan for $4.99 since I wanted video email alerts and to remotely connect to my wireless cameras when I wasn’t home. I’m not happy that I have to pay for such features as I think it should be free. I was going to initially go with the basic service plan which supports up to 2 cameras and being able to view the cameras remotely from a computer, but the features included in the premier plan is too hard to pass up. If you don’t know which service plan to go with, I would go with the basic plan which is free and upgrade later if needed. Since I have the premier plan, I will be reviewing that plan along with the VueZone surveillance system.
My favorite feature of the VueZone surveillance system has to be the video email alerts which will notify you by email if your security cameras detect motion within it’s view. Once you get the alert, you will be able to view any of your VueZone cameras live. You can also change the settings so the alert can automatically take a snapshot of the detected motion or record a video which can last either 10 seconds or 40 seconds. This is part of the premier/elite plan and not available in the free basic plan.
In the premier plan, you will also be able to view your cameras from your smartphone and your computer. You can also connect five cameras to your system, pan and zoom digitally, access your video recordings from a secure online storage, high-resolution snapshot, scheduling and recording options, 250 MB of online video storage, publish to YouTube & Flickr and share your cameras with up to 10 people.
The only thing I do not like is having to pay for the service plan. $4.99/month isn’t expensive, but I don’t normally like paying monthly for products. I guess I can always go back to the basic plan If I don’t want to pay a monthly fee for the extra fees, but the premier plan is worth it for an extra $4.99 a month.
Some things I like about the VueZone is it’s simple to setup and use. I also love the fact that the life of the battery will last 6 months with normal usage. The features of the premier is also great and hard to pass up.
Overall, the VueZone video security system is a great way to protect your family, home, business or anything you need to protect.
VueZone is NOT a 24/7 recording Surveillance System
The VueZone cameras are not recording 24 hours a day, 7 times a week. It will only be active if you are viewing it remotely from a computer or smartphone, have it on a schedule to record or if it detects motion within it’s viewing distance. It’s meant to check in when you aren’t there. This is great on batteries usage since it will only turn on at the most important times.
